while not exactly pictured here, shinji was actually copying
kaworu's pose on the beach while he listened to ode to joy.
i'm sure most of you know this, but this directly mirrors
misato's hand in episode 23, except this time shinji doesn't pull away.

^^this one is actually from the intro as well,
but this is the first time it appears in the anime.
interestingly, i'm pretty sure kaworu wasn't blushing
here in the storyboards, it must've gotten added in later.
as you can probably tell, i'm getting my
pics from the directors cut of the episode.
all references of kaworu having the soul of adam were
added into the directors cut, in the original
episode there wasn't even a hint of it
i'd love to know who made his hair so fluffy here
